Lamb Stew

Always a winner !!

  • 1kg lean lamb meat
  • 1.5ml pepper
  • 25ml butter or margarine
  • 125ml water
  • 12.5ml sunflower oil
  • 12.5ml tamato paste
  • 4 baby marrows cut into blocks
  • handful of chopped parsley
  • 25ml powdered mushroom soup
  • 5ml salt
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 4 small onions cut into pieces
  • 5ml sugar
  • 250ml white wine
  • 2 celery sticks cut into pieces
  • 125g mushrooms chopped into pieces
  1. Cut the meat into blocks and sprinkle salt / pepper,
  2. Mix with crushed garlic.
  3. Braai meat in oil and butter/margarine until brown.
  4. Dish out.
  5. Braai onions until golden brown.
  6. Dish meat back.
  7. Mix the tamato paste with water and sugar. Add to above.
  8. Add the white wine.
  9. Place on stove and heat for an hour until the meat is soft.
  10. Thicken the sauce with the powdered mushroom soup.
  11. Add the vegetables and heat on stove for ten minutes.

Serve with rice. Your guests will definitely want a second helping. Enjoy.
